It is interesting to note that the members of the Deer Island Club appear to be an optional subset of the Skull & Bones Society. Members who knew they wanted to frequent the Island as a summer retreat would be “club members” but any S&B member could also plan a visit, with or without family and friends whose presence would require accommodation in The Ledges, a separate building that still exists.
